Financial Report (Including Librarian’s Report): ● With no questions concerning the financial report, Dr. April Williams highlighted the circulation statistics as well as the meeting room use statistics. ● Dec. 3 - SCLENDS Digital Consortia Committee: This will allow the libraries in the consortia to share ebooks and audiobooks. ● Dec. 4 - New HR Director tour of the library ● Dec. 6 - Lancaster Christmas Parade: Maggie and April rode in the bookmobile. ● Dec. 9 - Children’s Council: Met with Angelica Barrett about using the library facilities for the Grow Together Community Series ● Dec. 10 - Vending machine site visit at INSP Cafe; agreement is being drafted ● Dec. 11 - SCLA Exec. Board meeting ● Dec. 12 - Finance Personnel request submitted for an additional full time employee for Del Webb location ● Dec. 13 - IL Christmas Parade ● Dec. 14 - Kershaw Christmas Parade ● Dec. 15 - Christmas at the Library ● Dec. 16 - Cookies & Canes at Indian Land included a teddy bear clinic and lots of activities for the kids ● Dec. 17 - SCLA Board meeting ● Dec. 19 - SCLends Exec. Board meeting ● Legislation initiatives coming the 2nd week of February. April will share talking points concerning a prefiled bill that would eliminate the requirement for library directors to hold an MLIS degree. Deputy Directors’ Reports: ● N. Berry, Kershaw ○ Dec. 14 - Billy and Nancy participated in the Kershaw Christmas parade ○ Along with the main location, the Kershaw branch is holding a Winter Reading Challenge. ○ To boost storytime participation, an information flyer was prepared and sent to the local playschool. ○ Working on collection maintenance to ensure the bib records in the catalog are consistent ○ Preparations are being made for the celebration of Library Lover’s Month with BINGO for adults and a scavenger hunt for kids. ● T.
